about

A love song written in the style of those great old American jazz standards, and recorded in the style of a girl with a guitar, a laptop, and too much time on her hands.

I originally called this song Suze Rotolo because when I wrote it I’d been reminded of something Bob Dylan wrote about meeting Suze for the first time: “For the next week or so I thought of her a lot — couldn’t shut her out of my mind, was hoping I’d run into her. I felt like I was in love for the first time in my life, could feel her vibe 30 miles away — wanted her body next to mine. Right now.”

I’m no Bob Dylan (nor Jack Frost) and this is no love story. But it is a love song. Because when you find yourself feeling a thing as wonderful as this, you, at the very least, take the time to write it down.

about

Coralee Nashville, Tennessee

"Coralee and the Townies are a Lexington, Kentucky based band of a genre they’ve self-defined as Honky Tonk Soul, and it’s a fitting description, as the sextet whoops and weeps with traditional authenticity and contemporary energy, with Coralee’s husky vocals front and center and the Townies providing a righteous, raucous rootenanny soundtrack around her." ~Brian Baker (CityBeat) ... more
